HMG STONE’S EFFORTS FOR PRESERVATION OF LAL BAGH

Bangalore is rightfully known as the “Garden City of India” because of the city’s many beautiful lush gardens, parks, and lakes. With a mild and pleasant climate all year, it is ideal for both blooming flowers and brewing conversations among its friendly residents. Lalbagh Botanical Garden has been around for more than 200 years. The Lalbagh Rock is a geological landmark. According to the Geological Survey of India, it is “among the oldest rocks on the planet, dating back 3000 million years.”

Haider Ali laid out and planned the garden’s plan and foundation after being inspired by the Shamilar Bagh in Srinagar and wanting to create a similar beauty in Bangalore. He made certain that the most exotic and beautiful plants and flowers were brought in from all over India and installed at Lalbagh.

Under British rule, they appointed Krumbigal, a German botanist, to import plants from all over the world, ensuring that it truly is a global botanical garden. It is home to ornamental plants and has long served as a recreational park. Lalbagh now hosts flower shows (a tradition that dates back to 1890) to dazzle visitors with its variety and splendour. Furthermore, Lalbagh is a haven for a variety of bird and wildlife species. Lalbagh, with its diverse flora and fauna, is a landmark that should be preserved because it is a source of pride for Bangalore.

HMG Stones has come forward and taken the initiative to preserve this iconic landmark so that greenery and wildlife can thrive. The Lalbagh circle and boulevard are thriving with various flowering plants and creepers to make it appealing to those driving by or walking down the road. HMG Stones has also shown their support by creating a stunning landscape that keeps returning visitors in awe each time they visit. Originally constructed of British Cast Iron, the Lal Bagh Circle was unsuitable for modern traffic conditions, making the area accident prone and unsafe for pedestrians. HMG has redesigned the circle to reduce the number of accidents in the area. In the unfortunate event of a mishap or accident affecting Lalbagh, HMG bears the costs of repairing the damage. There is a 24-hour security guard on duty to prevent any disruptions to the garden’s peace and sanctity. To be eco-friendly, waste is collected from around Lalbagh every day to keep it tidy for visitors, and one sack of waste is disposed of on average. A beautiful fountain made of recycled water is an added bonus for quenching the thirst of birds, wildlife, cows, and street dogs. HMG is solely responsible for obtaining water for the fountain, as are all electricity bills throughout the park.

HMG hopes that by doing so, it will inspire people to do their part to keep the environment clean and green for future generations. HMG is happy to take care of Lalbagh and keep it blooming for decades to come.
