Marble Floor Designs
Marble is one of the oldest decorative stones known to man. Marble enjoys the benefit of being both traditional and modern and exists in a variety of patterns &colours. This makes it a perfect choice for creating spectacular flooring, for homes, offices and hotels.
Marble is an eye-catching material to use for flooring. It does not need any carpets or fancy decor to accentuate its beauty. Marble is a translucent material which pronounces a brilliant glow to the room. It is appealing all by itself. Marble flooring also makes rooms appear larger and spacious.
Contrary to popular belief, Marble isn’t exclusively white. While most Marbles come in lighter shades of yellow or pink, there are many varieties of Marble which come in shades of blue, brown, green and black as well. Marble appearance can be plain or patterned and with a single colour or multi-coloured veins.
Marble floors can be designed in many ways. The most common design is the kind where the room periphery uses a darker Marble pattern while the inner regions use a lighter variant. This contrast can also be brought out with an ornamental centrepiece floor design. This is similar to the rangoli pattern where there is a radially symmetric Marble design at the centre made with bright colours, and a lighter contrasting colour Marble to fill up the rest of the room. Traditional checkered patterns are also popular Marble floor designs in hotels and homes. Another common Marble flooring design is to use two or three different colours alternated in a rhythmic pattern. Other Marble floor designs involve the inclusion of smaller pieces of a contrasting colour to break the monotony of the larger Marble. There are several Marble floor designs possible with geometric as well as organic shapes, in varying combinations and degrees of ornamentation.
The beauty of Marble flooring offers endless possibilities and limitless choices for every room!
